PULL
MAGNETIC FIXTURES
OFF THE GRID
When New York’s Hobo Bags tapped Orange22 to create a custom showroom display system, the retailer offered a great deal of creative freedom. But there was one condition Hobo Bags wouldn’t compromise on: They’d go with anything Orange22 designed—unless it involved slatwall. Anything, they said, but slatwall. That’s because slatwall—the industry standard for retail display systems—is about as attractive as its hard-working, grooved, grid-like panels sound: Not very.
PULLING ITS WEIGHT
A few months later, Antonioni emerged from the studio with a utility patent for a display system that takes advantage of the earth’s gravitational pull: The high-powered magnetic walls of the system keep in place an array of fixtures, from hooks and pegs to shelves that bear up to 35 pounds. To remove a fixture, give it a twist and a nudge—and rearrange the entire look of your system in moments. No display structure has ever before provided such ease and flexibility.
IT’S CHAMELEON
Not only does Pull work, it works anywhere. Without the limiting grid system of slatwall, the display’s fixtures can be organized to suit the unique needs of diverse environments—home entertainment centers, walk-in closets, or object display systems. So, too, can Pull suit virtually any room’s aesthetic. The system’s surface can be skinned in leather, vinyl, laminates or real wood veneers. It can be powder coated or swathed in full-color printed graphics—or wrapped in wallpaper or fabric. “Cover it with solid walnut for a classic room,” Antonioni says. “Powder coat it for a more modern vibe. It’s chameleon.”
